Velez simply posted on Twitter, “Joey Bautista of Mulatto, my inaanak sa kasal (my godson in his wedding)”, with a weeping emoticon. Biazon’s tweet said, “It feels different when it’s people in your circle that falls to the virus. Rest in peace, Joey Bautista.”
News source Daily Tribune suspects the singer passed because of COVID-19.
